A First Look is an intimate moment, where you and your fiance see each other for the first time on the wedding day. It is often one of the most joyous moments of a wedding day. Deciding if you should or shouldn’t have a first look is no easy task. Here are some of the main reasons why you need to have one on your wedding day.
A Private Moment, Just the Two of You
It’s no secret that your wedding day can be a little overwhelming. Odds are you are going to get very few moments of privacy throughout the day. A First Look is the opportunity to have a private moment between you and your soon to be spouse, before the ceremony, away from everyone else.
You will still get the reaction of seeing each other for the first moment. Your photographer and/or videographer will be there capturing those moments for you.

Opens Up Your Portrait Schedule
The more portraits you can get out of the way before the ceremony the better! First Looks are amazing because they are also a time for bride and groom portraits before the ceremony and all of your guests arrive. They also allow you to spend more time at your cocktail hour, enjoying your wedding and less time taking portraits after the ceremony.

First Looks Aren’t Just For the Bride & Groom
A big misconception is that first looks are only between the bride and groom. However, First Looks are not just for your fiancé. You can have one with your parents, bridesmaids or anyone important to you!
